From watersports to fishing, there’s something for everyone at Gull Lake! Unlike other Alberta lakes that are decreasing in size and depth year over year, Gull Lake is protected and water is diverted from the Blindman River seasonally to ensure stable water levels. At 80 square kilometers and over 30 feet deep in the middle, the lake welcomes any and all types of boats, from motorboat to sailboat to canoe. Rich with pike, pickerel, whitefish and perch, the lake has become a favourite Alberta hotspot for sport fisherman. There are over 250 homes located around the lake, including some of the most exquisite lake and beach front property Alberta has to offer.
The communities surrounding the area provide a nearly endless supply of recreational activities throughout every season. Hiking, picnicking, swimming, trail rides and golf are all popular in the warmer months while ice fishing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and tobogganing are just a few of the activities available when the snow flies.
Nearby communities and towns are rich with amenities, including golf courses, farmers’ markets, shopping, theatres, restaurants and sidewalk cafes. Small town, family-run stores and shops are peppered throughout the area, while larger, brand-name retailers can be found a mere half hour away in Red Deer.
